Here is my Biography

I began karting when I was 7, my dad used to go every Wednesday to GYG and I loved to watch him. I started to go to the indoor track at Sandycroft, North Wales and had my 8th Birthday party there. Only after a few times of going I broke the track record and set a new time of 29.68 seconds, I kept this for a number of years. I was 7 when I got my first Kart for Christmas, a Marinello with a WTP engine. I went testing up in GYG as often as I could, and cadets that were already racing told me I must start racing as I would do really well. I joined GYG as a member and did my Arks test.

My first race was at GYG on 3rd Feb 2008 age 10, I won the 1st Novice Trophy, and came in 1st position on the WTP engine as it was a mixed race with W60. 5th position in the race. I was hooked. From there I went on to finish 3rd position over all, and 1st for the WTP the following month, again with 1st Novice. We then went to Hooton Park for the April event. My Dad borrowed a W60 engine as there was no WTP class.

I won the race, and became the first person they had ever known to win a race on novice plates. It caused quite a stir as they didn’t know which trophy to give me, 1st Place or 1st Novice. I won 1st Novice on all of my races on the novice plate. I won my first race at Hooton and came 3rd in my first race at Manchester and Buxton.
Here is a list of my successes 2008.

Won 1st Novice on all 5 Novice Races

April - 1st place at Hooton on Novice plates

WTP Engine - 3x 1st place positions

Comer Engine - 2x 1st place positions
6x 2nd place positions
6x 3rd place positions.

3rd place in Dragon Masters

Broke the track record for the Valley Circuit Three Sisters, Wigan 51.32 held previously for 2 years. I still hold it today

Winner of 2008 invitation series

During my 1st year in racing I won 23 Trophy’s and hold a track record and winner of the invitation series. I finished 5th in the Championship in Hooton, but joined late otherwise I could have done better,
And the first 5 races in the GYG championship were on the WTP engine and I changed to the Comer so that put me out of the Championship there.

During the year I received Sponsorship from Solarsport which is a sport sunscreen and I have become their face of bringing awareness to the importance of wearing sunscreen to all children involved in sports. Because of my sponsorship and how well I have done in the first year of Racing , Solarsport contacted the BBC and they came to Three Sisters Wigan to do a feature on me which appeared on the BBC’s North West Tonight programme. They also did a follow up feature a few weeks later at the end of the final race of the season. They are wanting to film me in a race in Feb next year and are also talking about doing a fly on the wall documentary on me next year. The feature on the BBC can be found on the MBKC website.
I have to give a very big thank you to my Dad, Bonner Hingeley who is my mechanic and without him I would not have done as well as I have this year. He does everything himself and has learnt everything this year. Also to my family, my Mum Julie who comes to every race, and my Sister Chloe 9 and Brother Matthew 5 who are my biggest supporters. Matthew has already begun Karting with the Little Dragons at GYG and has got 8 Trophies. Also my Grandad Colin Davies who travels to every race to see me whatever the weather. He is my lucky mascot.
We have also had a lot of help from Sam Pollit, and from John Davies from FORCE who is always on hand to give advise if needed.

I would also like to say a big thank you to GYG which is my home track for all their support this year, they have let me test when I have needed to and also given us help and advice when we have needed it.
Also to Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan in Abergele North Wales, they have been a great support to me with Karting and allowed my to have the day off for the filming with the BBC, and to compete in Stars of Tomorrow and Super 1
My sporting hero is definitely Lewis Hamilton, as he is not only a great race driver but is also a great role model for us all to look up to. As he has said in my clip from the BBC we should never give up. I would Love one day to be like him and race a F1 car, and my ambition is to get to that, but I definitely want to do something with motor racing when I am older.
I also admire Steven Gerrard and he is to football what Lewis is to motorsport, I used to play in a local football team called Hearts Wanderes. I joined the team when I was 7 but left this year as I couldn’t give them a full commitment with my Karting. I still phone on a sat night to see how they got on.
I play for Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan school team. I Love my football, but love Karting more.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in FKS last year, and although I had alot of bad luck mechanicaly, I had a fantastic experience and it taught me alot with my race craft.
I have been lucky enough to feature on Sky Sports coverage of FKS,

My Success of 2009.

Taking Part in FKS, and meeting Lewis Hamilton.

Joining Ultimate Motorsport.

4th position in Welsh Championships

Winning MBKC Winter Championship

Winning Ace of Clubs Champion 2009

Winning Grosvenor Cup 2009

2nd in MBKC Championship

3rd in Hooton Championship.
Good going considering I missed a few events in each Championship to compete in Formula Kart Stars.

For 2010 I have moved up to the much faster Mini Max, which will be a whole new experience. I have joined SPR Racing Team and I will be competing in the Super 1 British Championships for Mini Max. I am looking forward to this year and the challenges it will bring.
